When hiring a foreign national as a Specified Skilled Worker (i) in the Building Cleaning Field, it is not enough for the foreign worker simply to have passed the required examinations.

② Qualified Personnel Must Be Appointed for Prefectural Registration

Prefectural registration as a Building Cleaning Business requires not only the necessary equipment but also compliance with personnel requirements.

For a Building Cleaning Business, each business establishment must appoint a Cleaning Work Supervisor.

Under the personnel standards established by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, a Cleaning Work Supervisor must be a person who meets the prescribed training and other requirements based on one of the following qualifications:

or

📌 Holder of a Building Environmental Sanitation Management Engineer License

③ Membership in the Specified Skilled Worker Council for the Building Cleaning Field Is Also Required

Of course, even if the company meets all the required conditions, a foreign worker cannot be employed as a Specified Skilled Worker (i) unless they also meet the applicable requirements.

📌 Assistance with securing housing and other aspects of daily life

📌 Orientation for daily life in Japan

📌 Providing opportunities to study Japanese

📌 Handling consultations and complaints

📌 Regular meetings

If it is difficult for the company to establish an appropriate in-house support system, it may outsource the support services to a Registered Support Organization.
